Why is The Wealth of Nations important today? Join us at the Adam Smith Heritage Centre this April for an engaging panel discussion marking 250 years of The Wealth of Nations. Delivered in collaboration with the Library of Mistakes, this roundtable brings together leading voices to explore the continued relevance of Adam Smith’s most influential work.

Adam Smith Heritage Centre Speakers: Laura Paton (University of Glasgow) Maha Rafi Atal (University of Glasgow) Eoin McLaughlin (Heriot-Watt University) Chair: Robie Mochrie (Library of Mistakes)   The discussion will begin with an introduction to The Wealth of Nations and its place as a foundational text in economics, before opening into a wider conversation. Our speakers will reflect on the challenges of reading Smith purely as an economist and consider why his work remains relevant today beyond questions of markets and GDP. We look forward to welcoming you for an evening of thoughtful discussion and shared insight.

Please note: the event will take place on the first floor of the Heritage Centre, and there is no lift access.
