Water sports
Lochore Meadows is a great place to enjoy watersports - why not try something new or practice your skills!
Choose from Paddlenight Splash which is a fun session with staff on hand to give you a few top tips on how to paddle (this is not a tought session); Paddlenight Coach which are weekly coaching sessions designed for individuals with some basic experience of paddling, but are looking to develop their skills and knowledge; Intro to Kayaking where you will explore the fundamentals and basic skills of Kayaking in a fun, inclusive and safe environment: or Intro to Sea Kayaking you will explore the fundamentals and basic skills of Sea Kayaking.

Running and walking
Parkrun is a free, community event where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate and we're lucky to have five great locations in Fife. Events take place every Saturday morning at 9.30am and they are positive, welcoming and inclusive, there is no time limit and no one finishes last! Choose from Dunfermline Park Run, Lochore Meadows Park Run, Kirkcaldy Park Run, Glenrothes Park Run and St Andrews Park Run
Step into history with a FREE Adam Smith Heritage Tour. Explore the world of Adam Smith – the Kirkcaldy man, philosopher, economist, and visionary. Wander through the streets he once knew, hear stories from his life, and see the places that shaped his thinking and legacy.
Cycling
There's a new way to exlore St Andrews - the Bike and e-Bike Tour of St Andrews is a a fun, relaxed guided ride through this iconic town and its stunning surroundings. The tour route is designed to show you far more than any walking tour can, taking you to the best-known landmarks as well as some hidden gems just off the beaten path.
If you'd like to try mountain biking the Bike Trails at Lochore Meadows are ideal. Enjoy purpose built mountain bike trails in the heart of Fife with Green, Blue and Red trails which are a great introduction for cross country riding. You can hire bikes, with an extensive range of adaptive bikes including recumbent and upright trikes, adaptive wheelchair bikes & tandems.
Events
Fife Seaweed Fest has a packed programme of activities and experiences so you can discover the wonders of seaweed for nutrition, creativity and your garden. Events include everything for seaweed foraging and cooking to seaweed arts and crafts, plus exhibitions, talks and even seaweed gin tasting.
Come and celebrate 100 years of Letham Glen in Leven at Glenfest - join in the party featuring six local bands, a licensed bar, amazing food, craft and gift stalls and exciting rides to suit all.
Enjoy an afternoon eating and sipping your way around St Andrews with Eat Walk St Andrews. Starting with a cheeseboard and gin at The Niblick followed by Arbroath Smokies, mussels and cider at Tailend before a tutored whisky and gin tasting at Luvians and finishing with icecream at Janettas.
Enjoy a tradtional Scottish day out at Bowhill Highland Games which feature Highland Dancing, Heavy Athletics, Races, Bagpipes plus a market village.
Get ready for an epic weekend of Scottish motorsport at the Scottish championship Car Racing at Knockhill whihc includes Super Lap Scotland, Mod-Sports Championship, Scottish Legends Championship, and all the SMRC championships.
September is Doors Open Day time across Scotland and in Fife there are three weekends where you can visit a diverse mix of buildings, including some which are not normally open to the public - East Fife on 6th and 7th, Central on13th & 14th and West on 20th & 21st.
The Outwith Festival returns to Dunfermline for five-day celebration of creativity, culture, and community. Outdoor events include an Art Tour, Park Bathing and Forth Ports Vintage Bus Tour.
Family Fun
Get lost in the fun this Fife Outdoor Activities Week at Cairnie Fruit Farm! Try some Mega Maze Mayhem where the 6 acre Mega Maze is the star attraction, a twisting turning challenge within the labrynth of pathways in our maize maze. Don't just follow the paths, try to complete the fun challenge along the way and you'll be entered into a prize draw where you could win a Family Season Pass!
Experience the thrill of the outdoors at Cluny Activities Taster Week! Perfect for families, groups, or anyone up for some fresh-air fun, why not try a taster session of clay pigeon shooting or Footgolf & Discgolf at special prices just for Fife Outdoor Activities Week.
Bring your picnic and your teddy bear and join the Teddy Bears Picnic in the Adam Smith Garden in Kirkcaldy. Perfect for children under 5.
Come and try the Highland Cow Experience at Kinkell Braes near St Andrews. You will get to meet the beautiful coos and learn more about their role at Kinkell! Suitable for all the family.
Workshops
If you are interested in growing and arranging flowers don't miss the Garden shed Floral Workshop and Garden Tour at Balgove Larder. You'll get a garden-to-vase experience, learning how to develop your own cutting garden before picking your own selection of flowers and creating an arrangement. You'll also enjoy a tour of the Walled Garden.

Enjoy some outdoor shopping in the heart of St Andrews at St Andrews Market. This monthly market includes lots of independent producers and creatives selling fresh produce and food, handmade crafts, homewares etc.
The September Bowhouse Market Weekend is a celebration of the best food and drink from Fife and beyond with a host of food and drink producers and the opportunity to try a great selection of street food.
