Lindores Abbey Distillery doesn’t just sit on history, it pours it. Nestled beside the abbey ruins, it revives a 500-year-old legacy, transforming barley and water into liquid memory.
After five centuries of silence, the stills started flowing again in 2017, and the first single malt was released in 2021. The barley is Fife-grown, the water local, and the spirit entirely of this place. The new distillery is where tradition meets innovation: casks breathe, copper shines, and every dram tells a story of place, patience, and reverence. Lindores Abbey Distillery isn’t just making whisky; it’s resurrecting the soul of Scotland’s oldest distilling heritage.
Distillery Tours run daily at 10am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm from £25 per person, taking you through the full whisky-making process from mash tun to copper still to cask, finishing with two drams of Lindores Single Malt. For those wanting to go deeper, our History Tours explore the abbey ruins and the remarkable story behind Scotland's oldest distilling heritage.
Our Visitor Centre is open seven days a week from March to October (10am–4pm), and Wednesday to Sunday through the winter months.
Lindores is 100% dog friendly and all well-behaved dogs are welcome, and designated drivers aren’t left out either.
